The perfect exhaust system pairing for the TriMeki 2F header!
Our new stainless steel exhaust system will enhance your FJ40 with a muscular exhaust sound and improved free flowing performance.
The mandrel bent & hand TIG welded tubing with its continuous 2½" diameter provides better breathing for your F/2F engine and was engineered to maximize the performance benefits of the TriMeki header. Likewise, the stainless steel muffler has been carefully selected to provide a dyno-proven restriction-free exhaust gas flow with a deep, resonating sound that is powerful without being harsh or droning at highway speeds.
Made in the USA, the muffler features a stainless steel body with 2½" diameter inlet/outlet pipes. A straight-through perforated 2½" stainless steel core is wrapped in stainless steel mesh with two-stage acoustic packing that maintains the exhaust gas velocity while generating a smooth, deep exhaust tone. The muffler is produced using a CNC robotic manufacturing process to be free of defects and provide years of use.
This exhaust is the inevitable conclusion of our relentless drive to perfect the fit of our stainless steel header for 2F (and some F - see fitment notes) engines in 40 Series Land Cruisers. We decided the header output flange should be positioned to allow an exhaust to run over the top of the skid plate. As we perfected the fit of the header, we realized that we should mock up an entire exhaust system. When we showed the test rig, complete with stainless steel header and exhaust, the response was immediate and definite!

Tubing: 2½" diameter exhaust tubes are CNC mandrel-bent from 16 gauge heavy duty 304 stainless steel. The mandrel bending ensures optimal exhaust gas flow by eliminating any kinks or restrictions in the exhaust.

Hand TIG welded by the finest exhaust craftsman in the business today utilizing back purging to prevent weld porosity and to maximize strength.

O2 Sensor ready: The radius flared 304 stainless steel joint comes with an integrated oxygen sensor bung. The perfect match for a Holley® Sniper EFI or other EFI installations.

Hardware: Stainless steel flat band clamps for easy, leak free muffler installation with simple hand tools.

Extreme low profile clamp and articulated joint: A TriMeki exclusive with our header! Our rugged, investment cast, detachable clamp, with its claw-style hinge allows for easier exhaust system installation. The 316 stainless steel clamp and radius-flared exhaust joint offers 13 degrees of exhaust pipe articulation while a slip-in backup mandrel assures a leak-free, air-tight connection. This “ball and socket” style junction helps to maintain a continuous inner diameter for optimum airflow.

This exhaust is designed to fit 1969 - 12/1978 FJ-40 Land Cruisers equipped with 2F or F engines.
The TriMeki exhaust system mates directly to the TriMeki header and our exclusive stainless exhaust clamp with articulated joint:
- The exhaust (and header) will NOT fit 40 Series Cruisers fitted with power take-off (PTO) systems.
- The header (and therefore exhaust) will not fit 40 Series Cruisers equipped with column gear shift assembly, available in some markets through 1971.
- The header (and therefore exhaust) will not fit 40 Series Cruisers equipped with the wide-runner intake manifold - original equipment for 1968 model year F engines.
- The exhaust will NOT fit 1/1979 and later FJ40 Land Cruisers, aka “Squares”
NOTES:
- The exhaust system passes above the stock skid plate that protects the transmission and transfer case. Installation of the system requires modification to the front of this skid plate.
- The exhaust exits below the drivers side rear fender & behind the rear tire. Exhaust passes between the leaf spring and the driver's side frame rail in front of the leaf spring shackle. FJ40s with modifications to extend the wheelbase may have tire rubbing issues.
- Not legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles.

- Use a high-temperature anti-seize compound (aluminum, graphite &/or copper based) on all threads, especially the ARP stainless steel bolt for the exhaust clamp. Stainless steel threads can gall.
- Do not use an impact wrench on the exhaust clamp bolt. Hand tools only.
